New Year

Normal school scheduling begins on August 16th.  Ideally, students should be organized in small classes together so that the same lesson affecting them can be taught at once.  Those who need additional supervision or practice can participate in private tutoring and extra practice sessions with volunteers.   Thursdays will be kept open as long as possible for walk-ins and emergency needs.

A total of nine students took advantage of the Geometry Free Fall Preview this.  I think these sessions have been very productive and have given the students an idea of how to deal with the upcoming subject.

Until my schedule becomes prohibitive, there will be game nights on Fridays.  Cribbage and some other games that enhance mental skills will be played.  Those who become serious are welcome to participate in Cribbage and Hearts tournaments during the year.   Students are welcome to participate in more social activities.  If you are interest, keep your eye on the Clubhouse page in this website for activities and dates.  If there is a lot of interest, some parents may need to volunteer as chaperones.

I am establishing a more consistent payment policy this year.  Because of the number of clients who use my and my associates’ services, strict bookkeeping will take place.  That will allow me to be flexible on how you want to pay.  You have three choices: 1) You may pay a certain amount in advance and you be notified when your balance reaches zero, 2) You may pay after your account has reached between $50 and $100.   I expect prompt and considerate response when payment is requested or, 3) When it is convenient for you, you may call and request your account balance and pay at that time.  We will also be keeping better track of payment dates, type, etc.

Newsletter updates will take place every two weeks or so, once a week or more around holidays and finals to keep you up to date.  I will be having an assistant call to request your e-mail information so notices can be sent to you in a timely fashion.   If you want to beat the rush, you can send me your e-mail address now and beat the rush.
